vivo iQOO has confirmed on Weibo that the vivo iQOO 16 launches in China at the end of September 2026, alongside the new iQOO Pad Ultra tablet. Complete specifications, configurations and pricing are expected at the event. The exact date has not been published.

After teasing the redesigned camera module earlier in the week, iQOO published a closer look at the phone's complete rear design. The camera module has moved to a squared-off unit in the upper-left corner, a clear break from the previous generation.

vivo iQOO opened pre-orders in China and confirmed three things about the hardware: a brand-new self-developed esports chip, a next-generation Monster super-core engine, and Qualcomm's top-tier flagship processor. vivo iQOO states the combination delivers console-level ray tracing and shadow effects in games. The vivo iQOO Pad Ultra was confirmed for the same day, with a square rear module and a ring flash.

Reports point to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro built on TSMC's 2nm process, paired with iQOO's own Q5 esports chip, LPDDR6X memory and UFS 5.0 storage. The chip has already appeared on AnTuTu and Geekbench in an alleged iQOO 16. iQOO has confirmed the self-developed esports chip and the Qualcomm flagship platform but has not named either.

Leaks describe a 6.85-inch 2K flat AMOLED using Samsung emitter material, running up to 165Hz with LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh from 1Hz, and a peak brightness around 6000 nits. Nothing is confirmed.

Reports consistently place the battery in the 8,400 to 8,500mAh range with wired charging above 100W — a substantial step up from the previous generation.

Reports describe a 50MP 1/1.3-inch main sensor, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide, with a 32MP front camera and up to 100x zoom. vivo iQOO has confirmed only that the camera module has been redesigned.

Multiple reports indicate vivo iQOO has cancelled the Ultra variant for this generation, folding its specification into the standard model. If accurate, the vivo iQOO 16 is the top of the range rather than the entry point, which would explain the expected price increase.

Reports for the vivo iQOO 16 range from around ¥4,999 to ¥5,999 for the entry configuration, with the top 1TB tier reaching roughly ¥7,299 to ¥7,499.
