vivo Vice President of Products Huang Tao published the first official images of the X500 Pro Max, showing two body finishes along with an optional teleconverter lens and a professional photography grip kit. vivo describes the goal for this generation as being "the first choice for photography, and the only choice for video".
vivo has confirmed the X500 Pro Max is the world's first phone to ship with MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro, built on TSMC's 2nm process. It also supports vivo's Atomic Workbench multitasking feature.
The X500 Pro series debuts a Zeiss ultra-dynamic main camera co-developed by vivo's Blueprint imaging division and Sony, built around the new Blueprint Guangyu 900 sensor. vivo states it delivers up to 17EV of dynamic range. The series is also the first to carry CIPA 7.0 stabilisation on both the main and periscope telephoto cameras, and the first to record 4K video at 240fps for slow motion. The AI photography assistant has been fully upgraded.
vivo product manager Han Boxiao confirmed the X500 series for September, comprising the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. This is the first time the X series has used the Pro Max name, replacing the Pro+ and Ultra naming used previously. vivo has skipped the X400 generation entirely. Five areas were named for upgrade: video, photography, performance, display and the operating system.
Leaks point to a 6.83 to 6.85-inch 2K LTPO OLED flat display at 144Hz, a battery in the 7000mAh range or higher, 90W or 100W wired charging and 40W or 50W wireless. LPDDR6 memory with UFS 5.0 storage, a titanium alloy frame, IP68 rating and an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor have also been reported. None of this is confirmed.
Reports describe a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 200MP periscope telephoto, housed in a large circular module. vivo has confirmed the main sensor and stabilisation but has not detailed the full camera arrangement.
Reports suggest a starting price around Β₯6,999 with the top 1TB configuration reaching roughly Β₯8,999, positioning it against the iPhone Pro Max. Nothing is official until 21 September, and we will update this page the moment vivo confirms the figures.
